ASK THE EXPERTS with Suzy Elneil and Dr Sarah Jarvis

Is light adult incontinence treatable?

Yes: the good news is that the vast majority of women can be helped (more than 70%). It's a common misconception that LAI is untreatable and this unfortunately means many women suffer in silence because they don't realise there is something they can do to improve their daily lives.

Many women can overcome the problem by taking simple steps day to day: choose a discreet but specialist pad such as Always Envive; learn how to do pelvic floor exercises correctly, try relaxation techniques and drink lots of water.

The turning point for many women is changing the way they perceive the condition. The greatest success comes when a woman feels empowered and takes charge of the situation. Simple daily changes lead to a greatly improved situation and empowerment leads to better self image and restored confidence.
